Obstacles

In the story "On Top Of The Wolrd" Hillary and Norgay faced many obstacles. The first obstacle they faced was the cold because it was -27.F and they needed to wear three layers of gloves, coats, pants to not get sick. The other obstacle they needed to face was the food, because when they ran out of food different camps needed to bring extra food for Hillary and Norgay. Third obstacle was that since there wasn't alot of air they needed to carry a 30lb oxygen tank but it stated to run out. Forth reason was when Hillary and Norgay were about to reach the summit there was a 40 feet high rock in there way,and that effected them to not get to the summit and they thought that they lost against the mountain.Because of Hillary and Norgay passing the obstacles they succeded to climb Mt. Everest.

Early Man

In chapter 1, I learned many things about early man. First is that the early man took thousands of years to figure out how to grow food which is crops, corn, wheat, rice, sqaush and so on. Next is that Homo Erectus were smarter than Homo Sapiens. When they hunted for food they hunted the mammoth for the meat, bones for tools,skin for clothing. They also used the bones to build knives and needles. Third is when the ealy man growed alot of food they traded money and animals stuff like that.There were two peple who found Homo Habilis, the name was Lious and Mary Leekey they siad they were handy man because of the stuff and tools they found. Eugene Dubois was the person who found Homo Erectus the human who stand upright like us. Don Johanson foud a 3 million year old half australopithecine in Ethiopia, Africa. In conclusion I really liked what I learned in chapter 1.

Miyax

In the story 'AmaroqThe Wolf' Miyax was able to survive because she was intelligant. One way Miyax showed intelligance was by following what the wolves were doing to survive but she had to be aware of the things she did to not get attacked by the wolves if she did something to them. The other reason why she survived was by making a small shelter to live in made out of rocks,mud and dry grass. The last reason is that Miyax triyed to communicate with the wolves to impress the wolf that was called Amaroq the wolf. Doing what she did to survive showed she was intelligant and very brave.

How Did Brian Demonstrate Perseverance?

In the story "Fire Builder", Brian showed perseverance in many ways in his stuggle to survive. One way he persevered was by trying to find shelter, because he didn't want to just stay there on the plain and starve to death. He also showed perseverance by taking the quills out of his leg because a porcupine attacked him in the cave he found for shelter during the night. A very difficults challenge was that he really wanted to make make fire because he needed to use it to defend themselves.
